Wood floor cleaning

On average most hardwood floors need re-coating every three to five years, this is only an average. It really depends on the location of the particular floor and weather its in a high traffic area, for example a kitchen will need to be re-coated sooner than a bedroom or dining room.

Buff and Coat

General maintenance is a buff and coat, which is a light sanding, that removes surface scratches and cleans and prepares the surface for another coat of urethane polish.

You can buff and coat your floor three times before you reach the cost of a total refinish job. The sheen is controlled by the type of urethane used. Urethane is like paint; it comes in different sheen's (Satin, and semi-gloss).

A buff and coat of a single floor generally takes on average one day to complete depending on the size of the floor.

Refinish / Sand and finish

If your floors have been waxed, have heavy wear patterns, or have a lot of dents then they will require a refinished, also known as a sand and finish.

Refinishing / Sand and finish is a total sanding of the floor to the raw wood. We then stain the floor to your color and apply three coats of polyurethane. This process removes all dents, scratches and wear pattern (looks like a new floor). This is generally a three to five day job dependent of the size of the floor.
